Why Taekwondo?
We are Taekwondo & Martial Arts studio located in Cloverdale, Surrey, BC. We pride ourselves in being inclusive, friendly, and open to almost all ages (3+).
Taekwondo is one of the most systematic and technical forms of Martial Arts — most widely known for its wide range of kicking techniques.
The literal translation for Taekwondo is "kicking," "punching," and "the art or way of” in Korean.

Taekwondo is a Korean Martial Art, while Karate is a Japanese Martial Art. Some techniques are the same, however Taekwondo emphasizes the kicks more. Karate tends to focus more on solid stances, power, and strength, whereas Taekwondo focuses on flexibility, speed, and mobility.

We ensure to teach practical, responsible self-defense tactics. Martial arts, when taught correctly, is not about violence but about developing skills they can use safely in a tough situation. If your child is exhibiting aggressive behaviour at school and in the classroom, this usually disappears with continued training and increased self-esteem/confidence.

This typically depends on how often the student is coming into the gym. The number of years can range anywhere between 3 to 6 years.
This also depends on how early they start training as well.

Every gym is different. The main costs you’ll have to think about when registering yourself or your child for Taekwondo are: monthly program costs, new uniforms (we offer free uniforms with new memberships—but students are responsible for purchasing new uniforms if they grow out of their previous ones), and belt test costs.

Life happens. Whether it’s because your child doesn’t have time, or you’re moving, or you simply can’t afford the program—that’s totally fine. We want to be as flexible as possible which is why we don’t tie anyone into contracts. Just give us 30 days notice and we’ll cancel your membership. You will always be welcome back at our studio, no matter what!
